January Gems

January Gems

2022 is here and we are so excited!

There is something about the atmosphere in January that makes everyone all hopeful.

With January being right smack dap in the middle of winter, we know that it can be hard to pull off looking cute and being warm at the same time, so we are bringing to you an all time favorite; Sweater dresses!

I love a good sweater dress, it compliments and hugs my every curve while keeping me nice and warm. You can pair them with leggings or stockings and your favorite boots. This month we will be releasing our "Smitten" sweater dress in black onyx and ruby red color-ways. A queen can never have too much black in her closet, and it goes with EVERYTHING! We still wanted to have a color for those who want to stand out and be more daring with their color choices as well, hence, ruby red.

Fun fact, my grandma loves red and I'm pretty sure she will be the first to grab these when they drop!

What is a sweater dress? A sweater dress is essentially a sweater that has been extended to cover your whole body instead of just your chest and stomach. Most sweater dresses stop at least to the upper thigh/middle of thigh.

They can in all shapes and sizes of course, and we wanted to bring in a silhouette that compliments all of our queens bodies as best as possible so our "Smitten" Sweater dress starts at a extra-small up to an extra large and features a belt to tie in at the waist to create the perfect shape.

Be sure to check our next post to see how to style sweater dresses this winter!

We've gotten feedback from our college queens that they wanted to show a little bit more skin.

For those who still prefer showing a lil skin... our Rosé cropped sweater is for the win....

This cute blushed colored hoodie gives the comfort of all day wear and style. Pair it with our 'Vibes' jogger sweatpants or some jeans for a cute and casual look. Want to be a bit daring? Pair the top with a short or skirt and those a lil bit too cold for spring mornings on your way to class or to run errands.

Be on the lookout for these beautiful pieces to drop on our site, Facebook and Instagram Shop on January 31st!

While you are waiting for these to drop, here are some of my favorite items to wear in the winter from the boutique:

 Faux-de-fur

Our fake fur hoodie is a winter staple. I love this cinnamon like orange color as it brings a new look to an all time winter favorite. I wanted to go for a preppy look in this photo, so I paired our Baby blues ruffle top and plaid play skorts over a pair of stockings and booties. Now keep in mind that I am always in between sizes (middie). Have you ever heard of the term mid-size? Mid-size is a fashion term to describe a woman's body size that doesn't fit within the traditional clothing sizes. In other words, at least for me, I can wear both standard sizes (0-10)  and plus sizes (12-22+) depending on the fit of the items. I will dive further into this idea in a future post.

Chillz Sweatpants

Sweatpants or joggers? Whatever you call them, we all wear them all year and winter is when I live in them. Obviously it goes without saying that I would pair our child sweatpants with our newest item coming this month. The two creates the go-to chilling or gym look. I had college girls in mind when making this look for late night study sessions in the dorm to a quick gym workout after class. This doesn't mean that you and I cannot sneak this look in to though. Anyone who wants to be an baddie in her head can pull this look off flawlessly. It's all about confidence and comfort.

 Sweatshirt or Dress

It's technically a baggy sweatshirt, but as a shortie, I love wearing   oversized sweaters and hoodies as a dress. Pair it with stockings, leg-warmers, socks and chunky boots for a edgy look. Want to be glam? Do a soft glam makeup like I have on in the picture then dress the look up with pearls, stockings, and sky high stilettos.
